Unaccompanied Children Archives - USCRI
Introduction
Welcome to the Unaccompanied Children Archives at the Greater Carolinas Womens Center, a division of the United States Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI). Our center is dedicated to providing support, care, and resources to unaccompanied children who have arrived in the Greater Carolinas area. By assisting them, we aim to ensure the safety, well-being, and successful integration of these children into our society.
Who Are Unaccompanied Children?
Unaccompanied children are minors who arrive in the United States without a parent or legal guardian. Often fleeing from violence, persecution, or poverty in their home countries, these children embark on challenging and sometimes dangerous journeys seeking safety and opportunities for a better future.
Our Mission
At the Greater Carolinas Womens Center, our mission is to address the unique needs of unaccompanied children and ensure their protection, care, and access to essential services. We collaborate with various governmental and non-governmental partners to uphold the rights and well-being of these children. Through our programs and advocacy efforts, we strive to empower them and facilitate their successful integration into the local community.

Our dedicated team of professionals ensures that every child's basic needs are met while they adjust to their new surroundings.
2. Education and Language Support
We prioritize education and language support to help unaccompanied children thrive academically and linguistically. Our dedicated case managers work closely with unaccompanied children to develop individualized plans that address their specific needs. We assist in family tracing and tracing, aiming to reunite children with their families when appropriate and in their best interest. Our case managers provide ongoing support and advocacy to ensure a smooth transition and continued well-being.
